About the Surgery

Welcome to Grand Union Health Centre

We are an NHS GP surgery located in Central London. Our dedicated team offers safe and effective healthcare to everyone in our community. We aim to respond to our patients' needs holistically. This includes treating minor ailments and managing long-term conditions. Our GPs, nurses, and pharmacists run clinics for a variety of health issues.

Our surgery serves Bayswater, Paddington, Maida Hill, Maida Vale, Harrow Road, St John's Wood, Westbourne Grove, and Notting Hill. Our catchment includes postcodes W2, W9, W10, and W11, however we are able to register patients from across London. We are easily accessible from West London, just a short walk from Queensway and local bus and tube routes.

Grand Union Health Centre

The health centre is near the Grand Union Canal. This canal runs from London to Birmingham through lovely countryside, towns, and villages. It is the longest canal in Britain and supports many people in living healthier, happier lives.

In 2015, two local GP surgeries merged, and in 2018, we combined with a third practice. This makes us truly a 'Grand Union.'

We provide a wide range of high-quality services to meet local needs. This includes families with young kids, working people, and those with long-term health issues. It also covers individuals who are vulnerable or isolated. We believe in building positive, long-lasting relationships with our patients. This continuity of care helps us address both short and long-term health and social needs.

We understand that care is more than just medical treatment. We provide different support services on-site. This helps reduce feelings of isolation and encourages healthier, happier lifestyles.

Our philosophy is to make services accessible to everyone in the community. We operate from welcoming, purpose-built premises that meet the latest safety and access standards. We look forward to welcoming you here.

Improving Access to Your GP Practice

We’re committed to making it easier for you to get the care you need. As part of a wider North West London programme, our Access Improvement Plan focuses on delivering high-quality, timely, and personalised care. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Faster access to care: We aim to offer same-day or next-day responses for urgent medical needs and ensure more appointments are available, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays. These additional appointments are delivered through our Enhanced Access Hubs, in partnership with the West London GP Federation.
  • Better support for patients with ongoing or complex needs: We prioritise continuity of care so you can see the same healthcare team when it matters most.
  • Smarter use of digital tools: The NHS App and our online consultation system (PATCHS) help you get support quickly and manage your health more easily from home.
  • We’re working to answer 90% of calls within 10 minutes: We regularly check our phone data to improve response times and reduce waiting.
  • More personalised help when you need it: Our trained reception team and Social Prescribers are here to guide you to the right care — whether that’s with a clinician or community support services.
  • Ongoing improvements based on your feedback: We monitor how we’re doing and regularly gather patient feedback to keep improving your experience.
